Hot Spinach Dip

If you want a simple appetizer, this hot spinach dip is really easy to make and comes together quickly. With frozen creamed spinach, shredded mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of salt and oregano, it is one of the easiest appetizers ever.

Ingredients

  • 10-12 ounces Frozen Creamed Spinach cooked to package directions (ounces depends on brand typically 10-12 ounces)
  • ½ ¾ cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pinch of Dried Oregano
  • Pinch of Garlic Powder

Instructions

You will also need: Tortilla Chips or other dippers, for serving

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Cook the creamed spinach to package directions.
  • When the creamed spinach is done, add it to an oven safe bowl, like a gratin dish, small pie dish, or small crock.
  • Top the creamed spinach with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Sprinkle the top with a pinch of garlic powder and dried oregano.

Bake the Spinach dip

  • Place the gratin dish on a baking sheet. It makes it much easier to remove the hot dish from the oven
  • Bake the spinach dip for approximately 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the dip is bubbly around the edges.
  • If you would like to brown the top of the cheese a little bit, switch the oven to low-broil and cook for 45 seconds to 1 minute. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: If you decide to brown the cheese, make sure you turn on the oven light and do not leave the oven’s side.
  • As soon as the cheese reaches the desired color, remove the baking sheet from the oven.
  • Serve the spinach dip with tortilla chips or other dipper of choice.
