Cuban-Style Beef Empanadas

Ingredients

Gently sauté the vegetables. Add the ground beef and spices and cook until browned.

Add the tomato sauce, broth, and olives. Cook the picadillo until it is saucy, not soupy.

Use prepackaged dough to make these empanadas super easy.

Build the empanadas: Add 2 tablespoons of picadillo in the center and moisten the edge with egg.

Fold the dough in half and press the edges together. Use a fork to press the edges and create a seal.

Heat the oil to about 325°F to 350°F. Add 1-2 empanadas. Fry them until golden. Carefully flip, and fry until golden.

Place them on a sheet pan lined with a cooling rack or paper towels to drain.
